Jared Renzi
Equine Trainer Translator
Jared’s central focus is on understanding behavior as a function of the horse’s biology, perception, and lived experience. Applying principles of learning theory and ethology, he works to identify the root causes of conflict and how all factors, from environmental to social, shape the horse’s response in each situation.
Firmly committed to practices that prioritize agency and welfare, his goal is simple: to create a shared, coherent system of communication. To him, this isn’t just about safety and precision in our handling of horses, but that special part of life with them—trust, relationship, connection—that we’re all really after.

While horses remain Jared's primary passion, his curiosity extends to other highly cognitive and social animals as well—particularly elephants and orcas. Their complex lives provide him with a comparative framework to further understand behavior across contexts. Beginning in October, he is excited to deepen this exploration through formal study with Behavior Works Zoo School, and later bring cross-species insights back to his work with horses.
Whether you’re a rider, trainer, or part of a larger facility, Jared invites you to join him in embracing a more mindful, behavior-based approach together. Call (413) 464 6866 or email renzihorsemanship@gmail.com to get in touch today.
