Firmly committed to practices that prioritize agency and welfare, his goal is simple: to create a shared, coherent system of communication. Beyond horses, Jared also enjoys studying other highly cognitive and social animals such as elephants and orcas. Learning more about their unique sensory abilities, social dynamics, and remarkable intelligence—he believes—provides a comparative framework to challenge our understanding of behavior even further. Implementing these cross-species insights into his work, he hopes to inspire greater appreciation not only for the inner lives of horses, but for the wisdom of all animals.
